Celebrate autumn in a festive way!

Head to Touchwood Shopping Centre this Saturday, 14th September, to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with activities and festive food!
This is the first collaboration between the Hong Kong community and Touchwood Shopping Centre, Solihull and is set to be an exciting, colourful and joy-filled event which we hope will become an annual date in the diary.
Thanks to the support of volunteers from Solihull Hongkongers, UK Welcomes Refugees, Solihull Methodist Church, Christian Zheng Sheng Association UK and Global Mission Church, this amazing Mid-Autumn Festival will be an authentic celebration, showcasing a vibrant mix of performances and highlighting the importance of this festival for many members of our community.
Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated in parts of Asia, especially in Hong Kong, when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest, making it a perfect time for gathering friends and family for celebration. It is also known locally as the Moon Festival, but there’s no need to wait for the moonlight in Touchwood – this event is being held during daytime hours so all members of the family can take part!
Enjoy a huge range of activities including lion dance performances, lantern and calligraphy workshops and musical entertainment throughout the festival. There will also be the opportunity to sample traditional teas and mooncakes.
This is a free event taking place on the ground floor of Touchwood Shopping Centre from 11am-5pm. We hope you’ll join us for a day of fun and encourage you not to miss out on this colourful cultural experience!
