Discover more about Knowle at heritage day

Knowle visitors will be able to find out more about the history behind some of the listed buildings in the village on Saturday 10 September.
As part of Heritage Open Days, a number of local organisations have celebrated Knowle’s heritage over the years.
They are set to do it once again, through a number of activities in the village.
Visit Knowle will be hosting guided heritage trail walks at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
These free guided walks will start outside the Guild House.
Places are limited, so booking is recommend. Book your place now.
From 10am, volunteers will also be on hand near the Guild House, where visitors can hang their memories of Knowle on a memory tree, or pick from three heritage trail guides produced in conjunction with Knowle Society.
Self-guided trail walks include a stroll through the heart of the village and a one-and-a half mile route along historic routes out of the village and the Grand Union canal.
A firm favourite for heritage open days are the church tower tours hosted by Knowle Parish Church.
Details on how to book a tour will be released soon so follow on Twitter or Facebook to find out more.
Dave Pinwell, director of Visit Knowle said “There are 46 listed buildings in Knowle Ward, with a high concentration of them in the centre of Knowle.
“We really enjoy sharing our knowledge of local history with the local community. Come along and join us in the village for what we are sure will be a lovely afternoon.”
