Christmas is about so much more than just shopping and in the Solihull borough, not only do we have great independent retailers and high street favourites, but we also have amazing experiences for you to enjoy with the whole family this Christmas.
Solihull Festive Village
From Friday 29 November to Sunday 22 December Christmas-themed wooden chalets will be lining the High Street and Mill Lane in Solihull town centre. There will be a Christmas bar placed in the heart of the festive village along with an array of festive chalets selling Christmas crafts and gifts. Live entertainment and fun for all the family, the market opening times are 10am-6pm weekdays.
Santa’s Christmas Cracker
Santa’s Christmas Cracker is a show at the Core Theatre where every child receives a Christmas present from Santa! It is a 45-minute, interactive family show, particularly suitable for 2-7 year-olds. Watch Father Christmas and his friends the elves making presents in their workshop and join them singing along to classic Christmas tunes! From Friday 20 December.
Santa’s Christmas Grotto
From Saturday 23 November to Tuesday 24 December, Santa Claus is coming to
Touchwood! Santa is back in residence this year at his enchanted Christmas grotto in the heart of Jubilee Walk. He’s always a popular man so to avoid disappointment, book your tickets early.
The Grinch Takeover
For one weekend only (Saturday 23 November – Sunday 24 November), the mischievous Grinch will be back visiting Touchwood. However, this year he’ll be breaking free of the grotto and is taking over the whole of Touchwood… Who knows where he’ll pop up next?!! This is a free event, no booking is necessary.
Santa Story Experience
Santa will also be taking time out of his busy schedule to visit John Lewis Solihull this festive season. Join Santa and his elves for a fun story session, complete with a Christmas craft activity and a special gift. Book your experience.
Aladdin on Ice
Be whisked away to the mystical city of Agrabah with some of your favourite songs, and breath-taking ice-skating performances. This show features amateur local skaters who have honed their skills through Planet Ice’s Learn To Skate program. Come and show them your support. For more information visit the Planet Ice website.
The Core Christmas Market
Do your festive shopping at The Core’s Christmas Market, with handmade and artisan goods from small businesses & local artists. The event takes place on Saturday 14 December and entry is free.
Solihull Jingle Bell Jog 2024
The Jingle Bell Jog, taking place on Sunday 8 December, will see Solihull town centre swamped with hundreds of Santas. Don a Santa suit and help raise money for homeless charity Change Into Action.
Solihull Christmas Fun Day
Children and adults alike will be mesmerised by a giant Christmas snow globe in the town centre on 14 December. Organised by Solihull Bid, there will also be festive choirs with us on the day to make Solihull town centre feel even more festive! Festive Fun Days
Head to Resorts World for free family fun every weekend from 23 November to 22 December at their Festive Fun days. Kids will love the creative workshops and visits from special guests including Bjorn the polar bear and Nena the reindeer!
Festive Eco Market
Wild Earth Movement are bringing their Festive Eco Market to Resorts World on Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 November, 11am – 5pm, in the Atrium. A great place to find stocking fillers and Christmas gifts, there will be over 20 stalls.
Mince Pie And Stollen Making Courses
Head to Hampton Manor and learn how to wow your visitors this Christmas. Choose from a variety of Christmas baking workshops with all ingredients and equipment provided.
The Barn at Berryfields
Enjoy a Father Christmas experience at the Barn at Berryfields: see Father Christmas’ Elves sing and dance and tell a Christmas story, decorate your own handmade gingerbread biscuit, meet Father Christmas, feed his reindeer and choose your favourite gift from the Elf Workshop.

Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens – Singing Santa
Head to the Gardens to meet and singalong with Santa. In each 50-minute session, Santa will entertain the children (and their grownups!) with a great selection of songs with lots of child friendly interactions.
