Solihull town centre celebrates its dog friendly businesses with campaign launch

Dog lovers are invited to bring their furry friends into Solihull town centre this Saturday for the launch of a new ‘Dog Friendly’ campaign.
The pooch friendly drive has been sniffed out by Solihull BID – the Business Improvement District for the town centre – to highlight the 45 plus businesses that welcome dogs with open paws.
Many people love visiting the town centre with their four-legged companion and a new page on the BID website – www.solihullbid.co.uk/dog-friendly-town/ – lists the venues and shops that are dog friendly. The list includes retail favourites as well as banks, estate agents, cafes, restaurants and pubs and is being expanded on a regular basis. Participating venues will also have a ‘Dog Friendly’ sticker in their windows.
The campaign launch this Saturday (May 7th) coincides with the monthly Solihull Producers’ Market and will also see the beginning of the Dog Friendly Competition. Simply pick up a postcard from one of 15 participating businesses, fill in your details and post it in one of the BID post-boxes to be in with a chance of winning a prize totalling over £300 including a night’s stay with your dog at voco St John’s Hotel! Full competition details can be found on the BID website.
And for those that want to capture a professional photo of their pooch to remember the day, you’re covered too! Photographer to the stars Andrew Ogilvy will be on hand to take that perfect pawtrait for you free of charge.
Melanie Palmer, Chief Executive of Solihull BID, said: “Our dog friendly campaign showcases yet another reason for people to visit Solihull town centre.
“Our businesses are totally invested in the customer experience for everyone, including our four-legged furry friends!”
